Covid-19 Updates for Hetherington Funerals
COVID-19 UPDATE (April 2020) To help reduce the spread of COVID-19, the government has been putting restrictions in place for funerals. Previously, 10 people were allowed at a funeral, including a celebrant and the funeral director. However, under new provisions, there may be 10 people at a service IN ADDITION TO a celebrant and the funeral director and staff.
The government has also stated that exemptions may be considered if there are more than 10 immediate family members. An immediate family member is a spouse/partner, children, parents or siblings of the deceased. Close friends of the deceased, extended family members and other people who are not immediate family, will not be able to attend the funeral if the 10-person limit is reached, even if the exemption approval is granted.
We understand that saying goodbye to a loved one is already very difficult, and we understand that the current situation only makes it harder. We are working to create special, unique funerals for our families, even with these restrictions.
Live-streaming and recording services are great tools that can bring families and together to share in the service. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will assist you as best we can.
