Thank you for supporting the family through the preparation phase of Mum’s funeral and at the service itself. We were very pleased with the dignity of the arrangements and the staff assisting were most helpful. Please accept our sincere thanks.
Unfortunately, there are times when visitors from overseas pass away while in Australia. Conversely, Australians can also pass away whilst being overseas. When these scenarios arise, a funeral home can be engaged to coordinate a repatriation, or transportation of the deceased either to Australia or away from Australia. This process is managed by your funeral director, who will complete the application on the administrators behalf and obtain the necessary paperwork to allow the repatriation to proceed without delay.
The specific requirements differ from one country to the next, and so the time frame for a repatriation to occur can vary from a few days to a few weeks. However, you can be confident that we at Hetherington Funerals are committed to an efficient and caring restoration of your loved one to the required destination.
Australia has been settled by people of diverse backgrounds and histories. It’s what makes this country so fascinating. However, as a result of this diversity, there are various customs and styles of service that need to be observed. There are no restrictions to the level of individualisation of your service choice, style, or the customary activities that you may wish to include. Since Hetherington Funerals itemises the account, you are free to select help to organise as much or as little of the funeral as you wish. Your funeral director is at your disposal to serve you in any capacity that you choose.
Eco Friendly Services
For those who are concerned about the environmental footprint left behind by us all, there is always the possibility of an Eco friendly burial. This includes, but is not limited to, Natural Earth Burials, which take place at Fremantle Cemetery. In its strictest sense, Eco-Friendly suggests all natural products and a minimal amount of energy being used for the final disposal of the body.
It usually includes a cardboard or natural timber coffin, removal of any unnatural substances from the lining (eg plastic) and as little use of machinery as possible. However, this does not mean that wise Eco-Friendly choices can’t be made even while saying farewell the loved one in a more traditional way.
